Learn More: The Largest Crises

SYRIA: The Syrian Crisis is being called the “worst humanitarian disaster of the 21st century.” Currently, the Syrian crisis is composed of both the massive refugee influx to Turkey, Greece, and more of Europe, as well as the difficult situation within the country due to civil war and air strikes. The funding shown for this crisis composes all the funding going to Syria as well as to Syrian refugees in other nations. Currently, there are over 13 million people in need of humanitarian assistance, including the over 5.5 million refugees and 6.1 million displaced within Syria.

YEMEN: The crisis in Yemen is being called the “worst food-security crisis.” Currently, there are over 22 million people in need related to the Yemeni crisis, and 80 percent of them are food insecure. Their needs are due largely to the conflict and blockades that have led to the collapse of basic services within the country and massive price increases that have made basic supplies out of reach to many citizens. The funding to this crisis is mainly composed of funding sent within the country, as a majority of Yemeni citizens remain within the country.
